Should I ?

Featured Replies

Been into the dealership today and priced up front mud flaps for my Octy II Vrs , put them against the car and i think they looked quite good & cut down on the crap up the side of the car too

What should i do ?

go for it mate. I went for mudflaps front and rear, although officially Skoda don't yet do rear mudflaps for the vRS. To be honest you'd be hard pressed to tell that they aren't meant for that car!

It does keep the rubbish out from the sides though :)

Got them to keep me a set back for tomorrow , hopefully the weather will be ok to fit them .

Scottpcs , Do u need the wheels off to fit them , i looked at the torx screws in the arch and with a full lock on i think i could get them out & back in without too much chew

I wouldn't be able to tell you I'm afraid as I got the dealer to fit mine as part of the deal when I bought it.

They're not too difficult to fit from what he tells me though and personally I would advise that you take the wheels off first otherwise you're only leaving yourself a small amount of space to work in :)

Get some RallyFlapz from Performance Creations they are really good at keeping road dirt etc. off your vRS and are custom made for the vRS.

Can be bought on e-bay direct from the manufacturer, see here;- RallyflapZ for Skoda Octavia VRs - Mudflaps Mud flaps - eBay Skoda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 17-Oct-07 20:27:12 BST)

OR you could always ring Ian @ Performance Creations and see if he might give you a 'Briskoda Discount' of a few quid off.

Here are a couple of pictures of my car with them fitted, although I have now cut 5cm off the length of the rear flaps to minimise the risk of pulling them off when reversing back against a kerb.

What do you think?

PS> They should also come with 4 vRS logo stickers to go on the bottom of the flap ( full width).

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid but they do look neat :)

I've never seen silver flaps of this type, I've only ever seen red and some blue ones. Are these the only two colours available?

Black is available AFAIK.

They look cack!

Sorry , but those look like you've just cut a few squares of red plastic and stuck them to the car.

Your probably right as far as the 'flaps' themselves, except they are not square, go BUT the brackets are the trick part, particularly for the rear, and have been specifically designed to fit the vRS.

'Fluffmeister' will be mortified (probably) by your comments as he linked up with Performance Creations about nine months ago to get them engineered; its a photo his car used by them on ebay.

As to 'cack'; YES - its cack from the road that they keep off your car!

Already fitted m8 , look ok

(i have the original skoda flaps)

but i do like the rally look ones too

Not my cup of tea either ..........

Thinking of a seat of skoda mudflaps myself, getting sick of crap that stuck to side and bottom of the rear bumper. Can I ask how much I should be looking to pay for a set. Thanks in advance.

I think front mudflaps are £16 in the brochure, not sure about fitting though

personally I don't like them, but what does my opinion matter? They remind me of the Vauxhall Nova days when ***** used to scream round high streets in 1st and 2nd gear with the valves popping through their bonnets.

The rear ones look meaningful, not sure of the fronts.

I think the red flaps on a red car go well , so do the blue on blue (seen them on e-bay)

I went for the factory fit ones £16 for the front from my local Skoda dealers

I'm definately going to get a set of skoda mudflaps, £31 for the set. The dealer says that they need to be cut/trimmed to make it a good fit. Is this right? Also has anyone experienced any problems with the official mud flaps, grounding out etc... Thanks in advance for your replies.

The original flaps fit fine on the front all you do is un-do the TORX screws in the wheel arch lining , line up the flap & put the screws back in , they dont catch the alloys on full lock either (i,ve got 18" alloys) no problems with grounding . I paid £15 for the genuine front flaps from Derek Slacks Skoda Middlesbrough

Tried the rear flaps dont fit at all , front ones look well and they stop a hell of a lot of crap up the side of the car

Useful info thanks. Will have to look into how I can get the rears to fit.

Here are a couple of pics of my car (Octy II vRS) with front and rear mudflaps fitted.

The rear ones are standard Octy mudflaps but the dealer did a best fit with them. As I've already said, I'm hard pushed to tell that they aren't meant for the vRS as they did a good job!

Scottpcs , they look very neat on the rear .

The rear flaps on yours , are they the original Skoda dealer ones ? when i went in for mine the guy tried a set of the rear ones up against the rear arch and he said they wouldnt fit ?

bahnstormer vrs , i still like the rally look ones on yours , the red car / flaps sets it off well
