Old AT Power Supply

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any ideas where I can find an old style AT Power supply. I need it to be rated to at least 300W due to the amount kit inside the PC i'm working with.

The original power supply (that I may or may not have blown up :pants: )was badged as Forteon.

ps. I thought I'd cracked this when I found a 300W At on Antec's website but I cant find anyone in the UK that has any

You would be better trying to track down an old pentium mmx based pc. I dont think you will find to many people selling AT style power supplies, especially because ATX has been around ages now.

The only one I have lying around is only a 200w but you may be able to get one from here [email protected]

I might have one in a box at my parents - will check it out next time I'm round there.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I consigned a small batch of old (think: 486) PCs to the Great Disposal Unit in the Sky.

On second thoughts, they were all proprietary cases/motherboards, so the PSUs probably wouldn't have been standard AT either..

Thanks,

I'll keep looking. The best I've found in an older PC so far is 230W so I've stuck that in for now. Hopefully it will last

PCworld have them in the componet section and you will find them in every Maplins

Are you sure the ones in PCW are AT and not ATX because all the ones we have at my place are ATX.

Have a look at http://www.theshowguide.co.uk/ , you might find one at a computer fair, you will find alot of stands selling older parts and old 200MHz machines which are likely to have th AT PSU's for around

I have a load of AT's and XT's at my folks, will check if any have 300w PSU's for you.

I've found one.

Farnell have them in stock. Should hopefully get it tomorrow.

I think the problem is that most consumer PSU's at that time only needed about 200 - 230W max. I think higher rated units were only ever likely to have been fitted to servers and industrial PC's

Thanks to all for looking.
