Front passenger footwell soaking wet

Featured Replies

Front passenger footwell is soaking wet.

Opened the bonnet straight away and felt the pannel filter which was dripping in water so i guess it's got into the cabin through that.

No obvious signs of a broken seal anywhere

Is the pollen filter known for letting water in?

Any common seals that go?

Any advice?

Pollen filter - yes! If not seated correctly water will leak in via that source. It is a well-known problem and, I believe, affects other VAG cars too.

i had a similar problem mine was the seal around the passenger door speaker the dealer tried to blame me as i had the speakers replaced but it was letting in water long before i changed them:mad:

check the black trim panel at bottom of windscreen for signs of cracks. open bonnet spray water on screen and watch the water flow. should miss the pollen filter. if not replace trim or seal whit silicon

Hi, I've just had this problem sorted on my Superb - see this thread

Well I hope its sorted, was done under warranty, the dealer said it looked like the pollen fileter had never been seated properly.

My carpet didn't feel wet, but it was soaking underneath, I only found out due to the problems I was having with my internal lights and being pointed to the problem by adaadams.

Had the same on my Octy - apparently there was a drainage tube missing from inside the wing. Whether this was just a "white lie" because it had taken them 3 attempts to get the pollen filter housing fitted right, I don't know... ;)

Rob.

Horners took several attempts to get mine sorted, to the point where a new carpet was fitted as the old one was sodden!

(as in sodden wet! :D)

They did not cause the fault though, that was done when the screen was replaced.

Took the pollen filter out as it was filthy went to buy a new one and everywhere had sold out.

So run around for the last2-3days with no pollen filter and it doesn't seem to have got any wetter.

Hopefully when i can get a new filter it'll go in alright....
