Quite a few of my friends laugh at my skoda especially when i say im planning on modding it, most people just agree its a nice car and that its an original thing to do, but to be honest i would never try getting the opinion of anyone who thought that a corsa with a sub was an amazing car

don't even listen to those bar-stewards! :finger:

NO CORSA, 106, FIESTA, SAXO, CLIO. ETC IS ANY GOOD. :thumbdwn:I.E.

. small cars with no space for people or luggage.

. The seats in those cars , do not fold back enough for obvious reasons,

. no decent lasting engines, plasticy interior, low cubic capacity is all they can afford

. 4 gears, top speed 84mph

. no sub or exhaust can justify its looks,

. They are either french or general motors!

NEED I SAY MORE?

The skoda has decent;

Engines,

interior

space,

room for a bit of cough nudge nudge wink wink!

space for a sub of your own. (in there eyes its then awesome)

What do these CH*Vs know about cars  (apparently thats a swear word)

"Oh yea, thats phat bcos it pumps out 50cent through the exhaust as well as the sub" "oh yea 1.0 engine is really fast, lets have a drag race reaching on forever untill we reach 85mph!"

As for the guy who left that nasty comment, well i wonder what he drives?

probably embarrased at his own car,

has he driven a skoda?

has he seen the octy vrs go?

whos car will last longest?

Its more of a real car than his!

Just on a personal note here.

im 18, ( 19 in about 2-3 weeks ), im young and i drive a skoda! Dont let them get you down, it doesnt stop me driving it! infact I want another skoda in the future!

i dont suppose you told them how crap ur old fiesta was on that other site!

I love the way its cool to drive a 1.2 45hp Corsa which tops out at 80mph than to drive a Felicia which beats it hands down in every respect.

A fully flung UP YOURS, to the badge snobs! :finger:

room for a bit of cough nudge nudge wink wink!

There isn't room for that in a Fabia!

LMAO at that picture of Lee

Why doesn't everyone add him and have ago about my money?

Why doesn't everyone add him and have ago about my money?

We charge a small fee :P

There isn't room for that in a Fabia!

If it works the same as a Favorit, you can remove the head rests and put the front seats all the way forward then wind the seats all the way back ;) Skoda called this a "bed", not sure you'd be able to sleep on it but maybe at a push some cough cough wink wink, lol, not that I've tried it.

There's a moderation queue to be added so I might not be seeing I said I was in Leeds which isn't south :)

I'm in the admin queue too.............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:zzz:

hehe awsome :D

A Skoda Rapid set up for track racing with a 1.3 bored out to 1500 and fitted with a 6 speed box could out accelerate Mercedes and Ford Cosworths on some of the straights of the nurberger ring (1988)

...Clearly you can see that the engineering and race pedigree of these basic OHV engines tuned to such a high state that they could take on much bigger engined, more modern cars and that those engines live on in the Favorit, Felicia and Fabia today!

They are not slow by any means, but you have to keep the revs up. My 1995 Favorit tops out at 110mph (on private roads of course) it maybe capable of more, but I cant tell as it sits off the clock lol.

Compared to similar sized japanese/far east engines which although have more power, certainly lack low down torque, meaning the 1.3 OHV engines can give them a run for thier money.

What Felicias are renowned for is superior grip to similar cars of thier type.

I can testify that my skoda 1.3 MPi was quicker up to 4000rpm than my old Rover 214 twin cam 16v with 103bhp and 100Ilb ft torque.

The simple reason for this is that a lot of these 16 valve engines kicking about these days deliver all their power and torque at unrealistic revs when the engine is screaming no more.

The 1.3 skoda engine delivers maximum torque (what shifts a car - not BHP) at 2800 rpm. This is when you need it so you can overtake and are not constantly swopping cogs!!

My mother has a rover 414 twin cam 16v and it is pathetic in comparison as you need a cardboard weighted car to appreciate that engine

...........mind i had a triumph acclaim 1335cc 12 valve twin carbs and it flew like the wind

last car i killed on a country road was a (bmw) mini cooper S!!!!!!

he no keep'us up'us when it get'us twisty'us!!!!!!

also had one of them...

although you young guys need to try a LOT harder!!!!

my races have included (and bear in mind I'm unbeaten in 3 years driving)

merc SLK/ml340

bm 316/318/320/320d/325/520/525d etc

audi a4/a3

honda civic type s/ type r (most shapes)

and so many 'hot' hatches i've lost count.

for the most part in a stripped out mk1 fav...

i'v had 4 fabia vrs's in one day before. now that was a good day.

most of the cars i'v "done" probably didn't evan know they were being "done" by a skoda.

i raced an 1800 astra, with an exhaust system.

I kept up with it and slowly overtook.

i won of course,

His face was a picture when we got to the next roundabout and saw my skoda badge. almost like "holy **** im getting one of those that was fast."

YOU JUST GOT BEAT BY A SKODA!

By the way my car is standard engine wise, just the normal 1.6mpi AEE.

I've also beat:

clio 1.4

renault 5 1.2

106 1.4

ka 1.3

countless fiesta's

saxo VTX 1.6

and more.

An Estate as well ;) I would really have thought the 1.8 Astra would cane a 1.6 AEE estate, just goes to show.

Be careful with racing though guys, if caught I understand it is a specific offence to be caught simply "racing" on the public highway, even if you don't break the speed limit etc. However I guess your defense is always I was overtaking and it's not my fault they're driving slow

Saxo VTX? Surely you mean VTR or VTS? ...I think its more driver ability than the car's performance.

A Saxo VTR in my hands would defo not loose to a 1.6 felicia estate. The Saxo is lighter, handles better, accelerates quicker and has a higher top speed, not to mention it has more power and torque and the VTS has an extra 30bhp on top of the VTR and 8 more valves.

Also, 106 1.4s do not hang about either, in XSi form they pack 100bhp and are extremly light and nimble machines.

The 1800 astra driver must have been asleep or didnt put his foot down at all. My 1994 1.4 SPi Astra merit is only marginally slower than a 1.6 Felicia estate.

I hasen to add,

yes its was probably a saxo vtr i dont know the differnce but the guy said it was a 1.6. maybe he lied.

The astra was old ish, and was really going for it, must have had a few dead bodies in the car. Having said that he did have stuf in it.

The estate model is not muxh slower if at all than the hatchback! :P

However i do agree its all about the drivers ability than performance.

Im obviously the best driver around lol

The estate model is not muxh slower if at all than the hatchback! :P

Yep. They are lightweight for such a big load lugging estate, 1025kg, only 40kg more than a 1.3 felly!

its turned into a thread to see what cars we have thrashed lol in which case iv prob got the smallest list here , in sayin that almost crashed my lil skoda yesturday, was over takin saxo an was startin to pass it an he indicated an came out an i had to slam on my breaks an swerve to the side an almost hit those barriers , he was inchs away frm my bby :( was not amused .

Some people are so pig headed about Skoda's - they think they used to breakdown but they never did! The old ones were as solid as the current ones. The Engine in the Favorit, was in Estelles, and now in a Fabia (slightly modified). They don't know / think that, they just think its VW engineered so its better.

The Felicia is a good car - especially as it beats these stupid idiots in Corsas, Novas, and Fiestas who think they are cool, and slag a Skoda off. A mate in college ripped the mick out of me for having a Skoda for a year and a bit, he smashed his Pug 106 up, and ended up buying one! Talk about a hypocrit!

no way

maybe he saw the light

correct me if im wrong (im not), but who else uses skoda's?

Police

taxi's

their uses: high mileage, fast, space for luggage and people .
