Jiglu: Newskodaclub: Discussion: SKODA OWNERS CLUB GB

I can get onto the Forum ok, but Neil is bitter, so i wouldnt read into whet he put 100%...

Is it the forum page that your after?

That 'new' Skoda club that Neil Whitmore is trying to start up is a complete waste of time, the Skoda Forum is the best place to be, Neil used to be the chairman but was ousted out because he didnt seem interested in moving the club forward (so i understand anyway).

The S.O.C.G.B is slowly getting back on its feet, i'm about to renew my membership. Hopefully some changes coming soon with both the forum and the club.

Apologies to Skoda Msport for not replying earlier to your PM. I came on here to reply and found this thread.

:) The Skoda Owners' Club G.B. has been about for well over 40 years and if I have my way it'll be about for at least that much again! There's certainly no doubts currently about its future.

The website is down at the moment as we are currently giving it an overhaul.

Neil the previous Chairman resigned from the Club a couple of years ago for reasons that I'm not allowed to go into publically. As previously mentioned he is very bitter about it and has made a half hearted attempt to make a new Club to rival ours.

I don't see S.O.C.G.B. to be a rival to BriSkoda or visa versa and think that members of each would benefit by being a member of the other too. It's no secret that BriSkoda has rather a lot more members than S.O.C.G.B. BriSkoda is critisised as being biassed towards newer Skodas, S.O.C.G.B. is critisised for being biassed towards older Skodas. While these critisisms may have been true once, that isn't the case now.

If anyone would like information about the Club feel free to either PM me here, at the Skoda forum previously mentioned or email me at [email protected]

I should just point out that the Skoda-Forum is not run by S.O.C.G.B. but a lot of our members do use the forum.

 Long live Skoda, S.O.C.G.B. BriSkoda and Skoda-Forum!

No apology needed Dave, was just a little worried about what was going on etc as I like the forum and the people that post and maintain it.

Well said Dave

If you ever give up mechanic-ing

there's always a future for you in the diplomatic service. ;)

Nearly everyone I know with an older Skoda drives a new one too.

cheers ... Darren

:) I've come up with a plan!

I've had a new law passed by the government that states every member of BriSkoda who isn't also a member of S.O.C.G.B. has to drive daverapid's 19 year old 274,000 mile Estelle for 500 miles in one day!
