I'm also looking for a petrol vrs at the moment, one thing to be careful of with carsandfinance.com is that the cars come through the fleet dept of the dealer and they insist on holding onto the V5 for 6 months, so effectively you can't sell it. This put me off.

As well as not being able to sell the car on you also might run in to problems insuring and or making an insurance claim. :eek:

They are probably selling demo cars and pocketing the writeback on them.

This is true. We have been told that they will hold into the V5 for 8 months. Their name will be on the V5 but we will be legal owners (had already checked this in case the company goes bust!!). Plant to hold onto this car for a while so not a problem for me. Company fully admits that they can only reclaim their commission by doing this.

As I said above what they are doing is probably not illegal but would contravene the regulations they abide by with Skoda and also may well give you some insurance issues.

Remember the question when you phone for a quote - "Are you the owner and registered keeper of the vehicle sir?"

I'd be pretty sure they are registering and then selling Demo cars which will earn them a fleet bonus from Skoda.
