Hi guys... got a new back box for my Felicia today and went to fit it... finally got the bolt removed on the clip after lots of WD40 and struggling but i cant get the back box section to seperate from the rest of the exhaust.

Have left the bracket off in the hope that the exhaust with 'jiggle' itself loose.

Is there any special way or hints that i could use to get it off? Have tried wacking it to shock the rust off etc to no avail!

A few knocks with a hammer ... and it should seperate. Hitting the backbox away from the centre pipe.

Put a piece of wood over the backbox when hitting it.

use an exhaust pipe cutter, cut the rear pipe off, then chisel out the remaining piece

cut a diagonal slot around the pipe to be removed with a hacksaw , then carefully peel the tube back and waggle the box to free off

Hve given up!!

Could lift the car due to not having a proper jack or axle stands and tigh a** work wouldn't let me put it over a pit!

So taken it to garage this morning and given them a deadline of an hour so they moved a couple of cars off the ramps and got mine straight up! yay

I sooooo need a garage to tinker in!!!

p.s. thanks for your suggestions guys... im sure they would all have worked had i the time/space to do it in. Tried the hitting back of back box away from joint without success! That little sucker was on there tight!!
