What wheels?

Featured Replies

Looking to put some new wheels on my Silver '02 vRS. I love the euro look with the wide deep dish black wheels and high profile tyres. Its all about fat rubber! Not a fan of big gay wheels and elastic bands for tyres! I'd probably drop her down a bit too if it was necessary to make the look complete.

Cambelt on Monday arg! £350 all in inc water pump at local skoda garage (Huddersfield). Not too bad i recon.

Euro look doesnt have fat profile rubber..lol

haha yeah the dragster look might affect my boot space a bit!! but that lupo looks sweet. you know what i meant really! i was struggling to describe it! i'll get some 10x8 inch wheels off the front of a tyrell 6-wheel F1 car and rubber them up!

Anyway! I do love the euro look, but ive never seen an octy with it so wasnt sure what it would look like. Anyone seen/found any pictures of one?

Should drive across to Liverpool and theyd do it for £280 at a dealership :P

Im biased, but I like the stock vRS wheels.

Same, the only aftermarket wheels I've seen that make me think 'oh yeah' were 18" Oz Superleggera's

I went OEM style with some A8 replicas as most wheels out now are well garish IMO

Bodge - does the £350 include the upgraded metal impellor water pump? Mine's due in a while and my local dealer is D,M Keith in Hudderfield too...

Thats not a VAG part and not replaced unless you ask for it normally.

nbr- the £347.56 is for cam belt (the kit which contains belt and tensioner etc) and water pump (which i asked for as an extra). i called up yesterday to ask if it was the metal impellor and am still awaiting a response from them on that. but by the looks of lummox's post i guess its just a plastic one. the cars done about 75,000miles and never had a pump failure, so it doesnt bother me too much. but might get one if i can in time, just for the sake of it.

lummox- where can i get one of these metal impeller'd pumps then? not booked in till monday so if i can get one i may aswell! skoda parts in sheffield??

The only worry I had was that the 'warranty' you get with Skoda in case anything goes wrong may not be valid as its nt a genuine VAG part.

GSF used to do them but I'm unsure if they still do

just got a response form the skoda garage - its a plastic one. she said i can supply a metal one if i find one, but its looking doubtful! good point about the warranty there. hadnt thought about that. ill keep hunting for a metal impellor, but i wont cry too much over it......:coder:

p.s. i love how posts always just wonder off into different but equally useful conversations! all good

GSF stock them, but its upto you.

ahh theres a GSF in Huddersfield! and they have a metal one in stock for about £20! excellent. cheers for the help guys.

looks like im going metal!

I've got the new style RS4s on my 03 MK1 vRS. IMO they look good but next to my wife's 01 MK1 vRS with stock alloys I didnt realise just how similar they are. Anyone seen those BBS's on the new A4 cab 3.0 ? They're smoky and would look great - again IMO.

Got any photo's of the RS4's on the car?

I've got a set sat in the garage waiting for track tyres, but as they are new I'm wondering about using them in place of standard. :)

I'll get one uploaded ASAP.

I've not had time to take an up-to-date pic from this weekend but see one from when they first went on - I've had these since end of Jan 07, I still hadn't got centre caps by this time. I'm starting to notice their popularity grow accross the VAG OEM scene. These are 17's bit i wish I held out for 18's TBH, unless I start to mess with suspension to hug the arches a little more. But tyre cost seem to sky-rise for 18's.
