Paying for Metallic Paint...........Twice ????

Featured Replies

Just received a flyer through the post from a Skoda Dealer offering Pre-Registered Fabia's........Fabia 1, 1.2 70bhp Storm blue, 10 miles.........£7895............Fabia 1, 1.2 70bhp (exactly same spec ) Metallic silver, 10 miles.........£8295........£400 difference, Both Pre-Registered yet you have to pay extra for silver paint. The car is technically second hand so why do you have to pay extra for the Silver Paint ??.

because people who drive silver cars are idiots? ;)

Almost correct. Boring, "look at me, I've made it". idiots. :)

Silver is just slightly metallic paint without the pigment. It should be cheaper than all other paints.

By jove, I feel better for that.

pre reg hmm?? skoda dealers arent allowed to sell pre reg'd cars anymore. they are either pulling a crafty one or they are just cars they reg'd to hit target 3 months ago and put them on as demo cars, but didnt use them. they arent really pre reg'd but used cars!

but too your question, maybe they havent listed the options that they might have on the silver one. could be aircon or alloy wheels perhaps?

Hmmm.

The main reason I PAYED EXTRA for a silver car is because it hides the stone chips and scrathes better and it doesn't need to be washed every 5 minutes.

I know I have made it, I don't need a car to tell everyone ;)

Pay per coat of paint maybe? :P

i reckon skoda could save money by just using emulsion on thier cars, could even but it on with a roller :rubchin:
