Quick question?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I after a new bulb and I have done a search and found the

Philips X-treme power +80%

which has good reviews but has anyone tried the

Osram NightBreaker +90%

I'm unsure which one to buy because IMO I think they will be about the same.

Any info would help.

Thanks in advance

I've used the Philips Xtremes and am very happy with them and I'd be surprised if there was a huge difference between them and the Osrams. I'd personally buy whichever of the two is cheapest/most available :D

I use the Philips Extreme's and am very pleased with them. They give a nice clear white light.

I use the Philips X-tremes in the MR2 and have just ordered a set of Nightbreakers for the Fabia.

The X-Tremes are excellent. Will report on the Nightbraekers when I fit them.

Chris

I put the Osram Nightbreakers in the Fabia today. A noticeable improvement over the Osram Silverstar bulbs that were in the car previously. I reckon these are the best H7 I have run in the Fabia.

I also run the Philips X-treme in the MR2 dipped beams and they are also excellent. Buy whichever is cheapest, both blow everything else out of the water IMO.

I got mine from Ebay supplier:

eBay UK Shop - Car Essentials: Compasses, Car Care, Fuel Additives

Excellent communications, immediate delivery, best price on the day.

They are also the shortest lifetime bulbs I have ever run, one going south today after 2 1/2 months. Car is used for work at least 5 days / evenings a week, but will stick with silverstars from now on.

EDIT: In the work car at least.

Another big up for Phillips Extremes

Any bulb being "over-run" relative to the normal one will have a shorter service life ie more light output = higher temperature = shorter service life. Thye are still worth using though.
