Friends 2000 slx - cracked glass, awful lights, dull reflectors (were poor when were okay). Newer 2001 elegance with the clear plastic lenses great lights.

As I need to replace both the glass slx lights, can they be replaced with the elegance style ones? I presume both are foglight models though I forgot to check. I can't see any difference other than the glossy look, eg size looks the same - anyone know if there is any problems (eg different wiring plug) to fitting the later plastic lense type?:confused:

No, they are a completely different shape unfortunately. The Elegance is a facelift model, and has more of a taper to the top edge of the lights, whereas the pre-facelift are pretty square in comparison.

Are you sure the shape is the same?

All the pre-facelift octavias I've seen have headlights with the top and bottom running parallel (as seen on the felicia) , but the later ones have deeper lights closer to the glass
