Uprated clutch anybody?

Featured Replies

Antbody know of an uprated clutch assembly for a 1.8t 4x4.

Part numbers, suppliers etc.

Got a Spanish Diesel one for mine after remap, came from Jabba. I must admit it was the cheapest one, the also suggested a couple of others a bit dearer. I'd give them a bell. Its been ok for the last 15k. Feels different and is noisier but otherwise ok. Sorry can't remember any details.

Spanish diesel clutch? Does it have a kip between 1 & 4? Bit annoying if you have to "nip" to B&Q! :D

I'll check Jabba out mate, thanks.

G60 lightened and balanced flywheel along with a sachs uprated friction plate works wonderfully mate :)

i had one in my car for at elast two years with no issues at all, works like standard and i can't say i noticed any more noise or vibrations :)

i got mine from jabba i think but not 100% on it. it lasted longer than my gearbox did :D

that was running a tad over 200bhp and even took the 275lbft and 280bhp or so that it had in its latest incarnation when i broke the gearbox again

and i launched it quite a few times with no issues either.

Balancing ,,,,, surely must encompas the crank, rods & pistons, as well as the clutch assembly, other wise it don't mean ****-****e don't it Bengie

i know where your coming from but i am simply quoting the suppliers, either way it was decently priced and worked wonderfully and hopefully still does but not in my car :)

Roger Bengie thanks ,,,, as I said, I'll check Jabba out.

"Ferk" the flywheel, uprated clutch & presure plate is what I need.

the flywheel lets it rev a bit more freely, makes no extra noise or vibration, doesn't alter the feel and makes the car more reliable as there isn't a DMF to fail. with it open i can't see the point in doing the friction plate alone

I see your point about the revs, but you don't get nothing for nothing.

Tick-over may suffer if you don't have the mass to move the flywheel through the point to the next "bang" from upstairs. Done all this befor Bengie ,,,,, just need a clutch to drag my boat up the slip-way, without a sniff of asbestos.

as i said, i ran this kit for years, eddy ran this kit for years, stuart ran this kit for years and it does not affect the way the car feels/idles just lets it rev a bit quicker and gives a slightly sharder throttle response as the flywheel has no moving parts to dampen the pickup.

Hi

Yes I have sold quite a few of these

We do them for £320.00 + VAT with the G60 flywheel

Or there is the ECS stage 1 clutch at £275.00 + VAT

There amy be a slight more vibration in neutral , but nothing major with a good biting point and not heavy pedal

yep.

Thanks Bengie. (I've added a thanks to your post box).

Seems it's all sorted now, next thing is to find the cost of labour from my local clutch man.

The 5 speed is not as bad to do than the 6 speed

So IIRC approx 4 hours to do

Have fun

Took mine to local clutch place and they refused to do it. Dealer did it in the end - charged 8 hours but said it took longer:eek:. I would have been suspicious but a specialist tuner also said the same time and money.

Mmmm

No , if anything there is the flywheel to do at the same time , but I would have said max 5 hours

Sarah

i found a local bloke to do mine, used him before as he is very good and cost me about £180 to fit it all i think so about £600 all in start to finish, which was £250 cheaper than skoda for just the clutch

Obstacle No:1.

Local clutch centre won't touch the Octy 4x4!

Why?

because its probably an unknown to them and they are a lot more work than a 1.4 escort :)
