cd changer for vrs?

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I have a 54 plate vrs and have a question.

When playing a cd, if I press one of the pre-set number 1-6 buttons it flashes up

'no cd changer', obviously this stereo is used in different models with some, ie octavia elegence, having the boot loader cd changer as standard. My question is this, is the vrs

'wired-up' to have the cd changer as a simple 'plug in' extra, with some port or socket

tucked away in the boot, or is it more complicated than that. If simple 'add on', how much are they from a dealer/cheaper source?

Thanks for any advice.

I don't know much about the connection but I'm sure you can get the changer of ebay....

doesnt it fit under the drivers seat on the fabia....I dont think the cable is there though...I remember having a look on mine because I was going to fit a changer......lost hope when I couldent find the connection under the seat...I think you have to run one in from the head unit and I could not be bothered lol

I am seriously thinking of getting rid of my CD changer in favour of an mp3 head unit.

If you were wanted we could come to some sort of a deal... maybe swapping passengers seats?

Thanks for replies, but i think i'll stick with it as it is.......

mp3 unit good idea though, as for swapping seats, assuming yours are cloth, would look

odd drivers seat leather next to cloth passenger:rofl:

thanks anyway.

If you get a changer then there is a retrofit kit available from Skoda, I've used one myself and they are ok.
