Streamy windows!!!

Featured Replies

When it's rainy like today, I get a nice stream of water running off the windscreen and across the driver's side windscreen at EXACTLY the right level to completely obscure my door mirror. This isn't exactly helpful if I'm on the motorway and want to change lane, so does anyone know if there's anything I can do / use to stop it happening?

I've not had that problem but my windows steam up at the bottom.

I get something similar (but not as bad) in my Octy II, can't remeber if SWMBO's Furby does it. I imagine its a function of moving the driver to the right-hand side.

How about wind deflectors on the front window? Or a smear of vaseline up the pillar?

Not sure I'm desperate enough for the Vaseline, but some sort of deflector wa the kind of thing I was thinking of - does anyone have anything like that already?

Apply Rain-X on the side windows and the water just beads off straight away, don't put it anywhere near your windscreen though as it'll **** up your wipers.

Go faster!

HTH :D

Its not a left hand right hand drive thing, it happens on my left hand drive too. It also flicks water out from under the glass along the window.

 I thought Rain-X was meant for windscreens?

I would have thought it done the same thing to the side windows as well??

I find it great on the side windows but rubbish on the windscreen (unless you're going 45mph+ when admittedly it is amazing). It creates a greasy film on the windscreen and below 45mph the rain does not fly off. As a result the wiper blades tend to just glide over the windscreen and not actually swipe the water as they go.

I've got Aquapel on all of my windows, and tbh over 30mph I hardly ever have to use my wipers whatever the strength of downpour, and never have any streaking issues.

My wipers are the originals on 32k miles, and tbh could do with changing, as they are showing signs of wear.

Aquapel for me too on front, sides and rear screen. Very good stuff. Jason (devonutopia)does a GB every so often
