Change of car soon.....

Featured Replies

Right... budget is £15k (including current Golf as px - indicated value is £11.5k)

Requirment's;

- Estate/Large hatch

- Diesel - 6 speed box

- Less than 1 year old & 10k miles

- 'Sporty' credentials

Can't really see past an Octy VRS TDI to be honest, ticks all the boxes or am I missing the obvious?

mondeo st tdci?bet they are going well cheap now the new one is out

or i could do the welshy bit and explain how you can get a million mile 5 year old 535d touring and it will be a better car than anything and cheaper to run too:rofl:

a) I don't get a 'hard on' out of spending as little as I can on things or have detailed spreadsheets analysing how to obtain optimum value for money on any purchase I make (life's too short).... and I'm not even on £55 per hour

B) Warrenty is nice to have

c) Don't want an old style Mondeo :thumbdwn: Rather have an X-Type Estate 2.2D, but for 15k would be looking at a 2-3 year old one

fair point, and the vrs tdi is faster,i don't like fords either:D

I had a 54 reg mondy st-tdci . not a bad motor . Only thing to look for is the alloy wheels blistering arond the centre cap , i had a full set of four replaced under warrenty due to this

pick them up quite cheap now . . .

Skoda is a better motor by far , but the st-tdci mondeo is well specced . half heated leather / heated front screen / sony 6 disc head unit / 18" alloys / climate pack / headlight washers (even without the xeonons) / electric everything

How does £2.5k plus a 56 plate Mk V Golf 1.9TDI sound?

Deal or No Deal ???????? :P

Why are you selling your 'his un her's' VRS's by the way ???

£3.5K and you have a deal :P

Only one needs to sell to fund next 'project' not too bothered which one ;)

I would also say check out the Mundano ST... lot of car for the money.. 13k for 1 yr old estate with circa 20k on the clock on the 'trader.

also remember they did the 2.2tdci engine in the Titanium X and ghia X if you want more luxury than sport

Any more thoughts people..... dosen't have to be a diesel (If not then budget is £13k)

Just had a brouchure come through the post from the local Independent Saab Speacialists.... got a load of stuff in stock including a range of 9-5 2.3t (180bhp) Estates - all are 2006 Reg, less than 15k miles, leather and all the Saab usual toys for £11,800..... now that seems a lot of car for the money :rubchin:

Always liked Saab, but always over my buget - but at that kind of money I would at least be heading over and giving tham a good look at

Also worth mentioning that (if I should desire) said engine has tuning possibilities ranging from 210bhp (simple remap) to 315bhp (full stage 5 job) :)

A quick browse of the trader turned up the following :D

Pug 407

Citroen C5

Vectra 3.0 CDTi

Mazda 6

Seat Altea

Volvo V50

Fiat Bravo/Croma

Toyota Avensis
