I think you have the wrong tires?

Are the 205/40/17 ?

Yes, loads of people have 17" Octy rims. Stupid question, but I assume you have changed the tyre to suit the Fabia?

yeah to 40's

strange i've got 17"'s on mine (205/40/17) and mine's been lowered approx 25-30mm and I have no rubbing at all, not even close.

is the plastic wheel arch liner split on the rear, I had rubbing when i lowered mine.

Turned out to be a split wheel arch liner causing contact with the tyre.

nah its that what you see in the pic above

50 profile is way too big. You have to go down to 205/40 R17 or 215/40 R17. You've got tyres on there that are a good 7% to 8% larger than skoda factored when designing the fabia. You'll need to get new tyres - It's something well covered on here when fabia owners buy complete octavia vRS 17" wheels and tyres. :)

i reckon 45's could be ok, its only about 2mm too big, its actually drivable like that driven it about 2 miles already, theres a slight rub so i still want to get it sorted.

40 or 45 profile tyres would be fine imo

I had Octy 17's with 205/40/17 with no arch problems at all.

You really should use similar diameter tyres as std. tyres otherwise your speedo reading will be incorrect and possible rubbing problems.

Either 205 or 215 /40/17 should be OK

are there any performance issues when upgrading to 17 inch rims? i.e does it make the car slower lol

Only in regards to the car's speedo. Tyre calculators shoudl show how much the speedo will be out by depending on the tyres you have on the car. Normally it should be around +/- 1-2%

What if they weigh more?
