Had a look at a Black Octy vRS today...

Featured Replies

The only thing missing from the vRS is the armrest, it does have climate.

what about sunroof? side airabgs?

and i have the 4x4 which is why i wasn't 100% on the spec of the FWD elegance :)

and i don't know about teh FWD elegances engine code but the 4x4 has an ARX engine which is the same internally, same manifolds, same turbo, same everything just it has slightly different mounting points due to the 4x4 gearbox :)

after 2001 i believe all 1.8T engines were the same apart fromt the 210/225 engines that have stronger/lower compression rods and pistons, different manifolds, different turbo and twin SMIC instead of just the one.

there are slight difference over the years to do with vlave size and head quality but that has nothing to do with what car it went just money saving by VAG :)

have you considered the pd130 elegance?? I've had a mk1 vrs and modded it but now have the diesel and prefer it.. it's just as quick just as fun but loads cheaper to insure and run + it has the sleeper fun factor when you suprise people with how quick they are.

they aren't just as quick :)

we tested them side by side.

been having a casual look round for a 4x4 octy 1.8t myself, they seem to b e in short supply, cheap and in good nick, did they ever do them in a saloon?or were they all estates.

Maybe not on a track but in normal everyday driving and the odd outburst on some twisty roads I couldn't justify the extra cost's of owning and running a vrs.

not all estates, they did do a 4x4 hatch

Have you managed to find one yet?

If not I spotted this earlier... clicky

Looks pretty tidy, and is within your budget.

EDIT: Just seen this posted in your other thread...
