Easiest way to 300bhp? (Octy VRs)

Featured Replies

The thread was about an 06 Octy vRS which I assume is a 2.0TFSi, therefore upgrading a 1.8 225hp BAM wouldn't be of much use to you.

Yep, and has less torque too. The amount to change it would be a bit costly from certain places, and your just downgrading.

Its still cheaper at the moment to do a 20v engine due to part more commonlly available that may change but at the moment still cheaper.

Also size doesn't matter still can be modded to 500hp + if your wallet is big enough. You own a type r you should know size doesn't matter its all about how its put together

er, its not cheaper to tune the 1.8, trust me.

No, I don't think so either - not when that kit is roughly £1500.

But then again, you do have to add in other 'extras' to make full use of it ie. remap etc. etc. ;)

Ditto the 1.8t

Ok maybe not cheaper new but i bet there is a lot more second hand bits out there that make it cheaper.

to get 300bhp form a 1.8T your looking at around 5k all done for :-

turbo

manifold

injectors

fmic

exhaust

inlet

maf

clutch

mapping

then you need to think about suspension and brakes, there's another £1500 or so gone depending on what you go for.
