I had too much money to spend to choose a Tatra (if we could only have 1 car).

As for the Pantera, I've seen some of the "engineering" on De Tomasos, and value my life too much!

One of the requirements was turn key reliability, I think that rules out a De Thomaso, didn't Elvis shoot his when it wouldn't start?

The engine's a Detroit small-block (Ford IIRC), so that's not an issue. The electrics are Italian though! BTW I was more concerned about things like the wheel fixings (not the bolts, what the bolds bolt into).
