TDI inc. vRS Lease costs

Featured Replies

Any company car drivers out there looked at the Octavia TDI's and have any prices for the lease costs??

I'm interested in Elegance 2.0 TDI vs vRS TDI vs L&K if anybody knows.

I was reading a leaflet the other day about the skoda "solutions" deal ,

basically it works out at a maximum 30% deposit then 36 x payments of £197 (think it was) and three options at the end

1) give it back & walk away (but there is a mileage limit) if you do this 7p a mile

2) upgrade to a new model

3) pay the final balloon payment of £7k and keep the car (skoda can finance the £7k for you)

and on solutions you get 3yrs servicing as well

I need lease costs based on 30k per year, not PCP - because I get a company car.

Ah a lease plan like what Lombard and Lex offer?

There is no harm in phoning the companies direct and asking the question, a colleague of mine did that when he opted out of the company car scheme and they were falliong over themselves to give him the info he requested.

For example: Skoda Offers, Pricing & Information from Car Leasing Limited

I had a 2.0TDI Elegance estate with some goodies on it and it came to about £425 a month with tax, tyres and servicing included over a 3 year/30k per annum period. That was 18 months ago so it will obviously be more now.

Hasn't your 'fleet manager' got the costs? After all he will have to sanction the purchase, won't he?

'Unapproachable' is the word I'm thinking of!!

Well I'm sure he must p*** quite a few employees off as IMHO there is nothing more that staff want to talk about than their Company Car; I know as I run ours!

I would imagine you will have to deal with him eventually as, if your cars are Leased, then he will (or ought to) have a 'deal' in place with a Leasing Company or two.

I can't help directly as we buy our cars outright on Lease Finance (HP), but here are a few Company's websites, taken from a directory in one of the fleet mags I get, that may at least may give you a 'feel' for Leasing costs;-

Finally; why not talk to the Business Manager at your local Skoda dealer as I'm pretty sure his rates will be competitive with the market.

Good luck.

My vRS is leased through a company, and is my "company car"

It's a vRS TDi Hatch, Black, with Jumbo Box, Dual Zone Air Con & Rear Electric Windows Option.

It is £711 p/m (rounded up) - My employer pays £555 p/m (again, rounded up) as my monthly car allowance, i make up the rest from my pocket.

That cost includes, Insurance, Maintenance, etc etc...

Is that on a 'full purchase' basis and keep the car at the end of the agreement

OR a 3 year deal and hand the car back?

Its a 100,000 Mile jobbie, with the option to buy the car at the end at a price that is calculated at the beginning of the lease, based on estimated/known depreciation rates (I think)

Basically, on my actual lease, i estimated 45,000 miles per year usage - so my lease is a 30 month term (can be extended/shortened to match actual annual mileage), and i have the opportunity to buy the car at the end of the lease (whether it ends sooner or later) for £4,838 OR give it back.

Yea but its for 100,000 miles - no wonder!! Doesn't seem that bad.

Yep, Mine is high, but it is due to the high mileage affecting the end of lease vehicle value, i played about with quotes and if i halved my estimated annual mileage, i can get the cars MUCH cheaper...

But, i cant halve my estimated mileage, because of the nature of my Job. :thumbdwn:

I opted out the company car scheme and bought my vrs tdi myself. I purchased financing the whole list price new thro skoda finance. 3 years no deposit on car with metalic, jumbo box, cruise and park sensors worked out at £524 / month. Your lease figure will obviously include maintainance I would have thought and this would load the monthly costs on your mileage at approx £100 / month ish! If it is a straight lease the GFV will will accounted for (Approx £6900 on 100k 3 year old TDI vRS). Hope this helps!

Seems cheap; What is your RV/balloon payment?

Seems cheap; What is your RV/balloon payment?

None as its straight HP. £130 arrangement on first payment, £50 tranfer fee on last Payment. 5.2% APR! Did some serious shopping around to get these figures, and got sorted at a small rural dealer 15 miles from where I live! Oh and a free cake which I would not have fed to my dog! (On back of fabia advert)

I chose vRS Tdi as a company vehicle.

Delivered last week.

Leased via Skoda UK. Extras on ordering include Metallic, Sat Nav, Cruise, Xenons, Dualzone, 18" and Jumbo + freebies.

2 year lease, inc maintenance, 100k mileage @ £620/month.

I always thought my leasing company were a bunch of thieving gits, until I read this thread. My vRS TDi Estate is leased through ING, and it's costing me £495/month.

This includes a pretty long spec. list, comprising:

Sunset glass

Metallic Paint

Dual zone, jumbo box, rear electric windows

Rear parking sensors

Cruise control

Maxidot

Curtain airbags

Xenons

Auto dimming mirror, rain sensor, light assist

Active headrests

This is a full maintenance lease, which includes tyres, servicing, road tax etc.

The lease term is based on 90,000 miles or 4 years, whichever comes soonest. At my current annual mileage, it will definitely be at 90,000 miles.

Bagpuss.

If it goes the full term - 4 years @ £495 = £23760

As opposed to 2 years @ £620 = £14880.

Your making me feel better!

Ah, but my lease is totally covered by my company car allowance, so I don't actually care how much it ends up costing over four years.

In fact, by choosing Skoda, I get money back each month for not spending all of my allowance. Something my Golf GTi driving colleagues can't say :D

OK. We go about it in different ways.

Mine is straight lease to the company. No personal allowances involved. Just a ceiling figure, which the Octy comes well under.

One thing I do know and it was certainly a consideration when choosing, is that by going with the Skoda I save £30.20p / month in company car tax. Due to the P11d value and the higher emmision from the dated SAAB 95 2.2tdi engine. Money that is better in my pocket than in the government coffers, that for sure.

Anyways, hope your enjoying the vRS. For the money, it the dogs danglies!

Don't forget aswell as cheaper insurance group and road tax (a financial differential that will surely grow between Band C and Band F) and if you are a company car driver the CO2 based benefit in kind tax, the diesel should be cheaper to service.

At least it requires servicing at greater mileage intervals over petrol (in fact judging by the estimated interval of 18k miles and over 600 days from my service indicator the diesel seems very resistant to hard driving even with a chipped ecu)

I went down the opt out route.

I bought a 1 year old 2.0TDi Elegance ex skoda company car with 16,000 miles on the clock. It costs me £300 per month for 3 years and then I can either buy it for just over 4k or give it back. Not sure if I will want it with 120,000 miles on the clock!

Anyway, the Financial advisor in the showroom based all his figures on less mileage PA, therefore it would leave me with a nice amount of excess mileage charges at 10p per mile. I managed to get a letter from them, on headed notepaper, saying that as long as i didn't exceed 121,000 miles and the car was in average condition, they would take the car back for free. I have obviously lamenated this bit of paper and put it somewhere very safe!

I still have to pay for tyres, servicing, insurance etc but I claim the mileage back at the IR rates so I should make a little bit of money but more importantly not give the government anymore then I need to.

This was very informative however I understood none of it. I am pushing for a car from work. We don't have a skoda vrs tdi on the approved list for a company car so was looking to push for a car allowance. Wouldn't it just be a lot cheaper to go out and get a loan, use that to buy the car, and use the money from the allowance to pay the loan. I have no idea about tax etc etc as you can probably tell. Can someone please give me a little guidance.

Not a bad way of doing it, plenty of guys do. Just make sure your 'allowance' is big enough and remember that you won't have to pay Company Car Tax any more.

Personally though I would push to get the Octavia on your Company's approved list. Do they have any other VAG cars on it already; if so you ought to be half way there.
