Light steering; tyre wear?

Featured Replies

Picked up the Roomster 2 1.9TDI yesterday. Nice 'new car' smell! Most noticable first impression was the lightness of the steering, which encourages lots of wheel-twirling round town - great turning circle - and I wondered if a consequence of this might be quickly worn tyres. Has anyone had any problems with this? Has anyone had to change their Roomster tyres yet? At what mileage?

Thanks,

Stuart

If the turning is too light - I believe you can make it heavier by using vag-com.

Much more likely to wear the front tyres with a heavy foot!

Just heard of a chap who tows with his Octy II eventually having his dealer add weight to his steering because the car became so skittish when towing, as the steering is so light, apparently, on an Octy II in the first place.
