Has anyone had a go at this?? lol has anyone even got a PC that can do this badboy justice??

I installed it last night, and its only playable with "low" detail settings :( even on low it does still look just like far cry did, max detail must be something special!

My office mate has been telling me how great it is, but he's focussing more on the storyline than graphics. He does have a brand new bad-boy PC though

I got it running at 1280 x1024 on medium settings @30-35 fps, on my [email protected] and a 7950GX2.

Not sure if I like it atm, but I have been caning cod4 so it may grow on me yet.

It would've sold better had it been released a month or so before COD4

does look pretty at 1680*1050 and set to high - PC (e6400, 2GB RAM and 8800GT) just sits in the corner and whimpers if we even think about the ultra/very high setting. story/gameplay is good until you get to the part with the aliens...

Mines unplayable if i try it all on medium.. so low everything no AA @ 1680x1050 is playable... not really bonding with it tho, im not into "stealth" games really and i keep getting killed on the beach lol

UT3 however runs really well maxed out (still no AA tho)

played the UT3 demo at the same res and maxed out (possily no AA though) and it was just proper smooth. rather enjoyable for a mindless blast fest

'Trying' to run Crysis on what was a complete ninja machine when I built it - Athlon64 4000+ with 2Gb RAM, 7800GTX Gfx. It is absolutely pants now, can only run it at 800x600 ffs!! Time to get an 8800GT if anywhere gets them in stock at a reasonable price...

Random geek fact:

back in the days of the 3DFX (yes i had one of those too and fondly remember being amazed at the graphical advance of mechwarrior that they included in the box ) their biggest rival was powerVR... The N95 has a PowerVR 3d chipset in it over 4 times the power of the original. (yet there are no apps that utilise the power of this chipset yet :thumbdwn: )

Also it was 3dfx who originally pioneered SLI mode... and then Nvidia bought 3dfx for that technology

I have got it on full graphics and it's awsome to say the least, I have 4gb ram, 8800GTX and a dual core E6550 withg Asus pk5 se motherboard.

just to cheer you up col i ordered an 8800gt the day they came out from ebuyer for £157 with free delivery and £10 off if you bought via google checkout as a new customer
