I don't think I like it that much, but I didn't think far cry was that good either, all very fancy looking though but just lacking something and I don't know what tbh.

In the release version of the game can you set the graphics to very high when using DX9? I read an article saying they couldnt do this with the prelease they had. But they hacked it and it made a massive difference to the DX9 card.

well i got a patch from a rather dubious website that enables this feature.

one thing i noticed is that it doesn't really used the processor too much... around 60% on one core and the other cores jumping up to around 10-15% from time to time... but doesn't use the cores half as much as say Bioshock etc do...

So.... it must pretty much ALL be down to your gfx card to do the work!

Yep... as far as graphics go, they say it will scale back 2 years.. and scale forward 1.5 years... meaning even top end modern hardware will struggle to run this maxxed out! (all the official vids were made on development hardware thats still at least 6-10 months down the line)

Well installed it last night. Had to laugh at the core2 extreme lgon at the start of the game. Used the auto recommendede graphic settings which came back with the result medium. Did try it on high but it was struggling at 1360x768. Didnt really have a good go last night as it was late so will give it a go over the weekend.
