Strange question

Featured Replies

My second annual service is due soon so i will have to remove my tuning box

A work mate has told me that as long as i take out the blade fuse, which disables the box

The dealers cant say anything about the box being fitted in the car due to it not working and they cant prove that it has ever been working

I think he is talking out of his pipe

what does anyone else think?

They don't have to prove anything, word of mouth and a few innocent () interent posts are enough to have your cars warranty voided, so the physical presence of a tuning box is rather a no no. If your car is out of warrenty then no worries in anycase:D

Though thinking about it, why I bother when all you can manage is low grade sarcasm, I don't know:finger:

You asked what anyone thought, I pointed out that people had their warranties voided for posting about mods on here let alone leaving a tuning box in full sight of Skoda techs. You decided to respond with sarcasm when i was only trying to help. You Sir are an idiot.

I can be when I put my mind to it.:D

From what I can see a perfectly civil response was posted to the original question. There was no call for personal abuse, offending posts have been removed.

Otoh, a nice shiny tuning-box-shaped piece of clean engine bay may also arouse suspicion ;) To be honest, I doubt they'll worry about it if you leave it plugged in - mine were never mentioned :D

Chris

If they really wanted to they could probably work out you have used one even with it removed just by ECU values for the amount of fuel it thinks it is putting in then values that are excessively high for said fuelling values from sensors on the exhaust side of the cylinders.

If you don't want to take a chance take it totally off, or much as many people on here have said; if you want a warrenty don't play with the car.
