Engine Cover Removal

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Fabia 2001 1.4, 16V, 100BHP, Engine code is AUB. The cover it's diferent to the others I have see. This one doesn't have a screw under the skoda logo. I can't find the way to remove it. I have search for days in the forum and everybody talks about the engine cover with the screw on the top of the cover. Please help me. And forgive me for my english.

Hi and welcome to the forum :wavey:

If it's anything like my engine cover (it's an Octavia not a Fabia) it just pulls off. There are 3 prongs that stick into 3 rubber o rings. It's very stiff andwhen I forst removed mine I was worried about snapping the cover. From looking at Etka for your car, there are no screws listed, just on pin on the right hand side as you look at it. I've taken a screen shot so you can see it, maybe you need to undo the air filter.

Hope that helps.

Welcome to the site!

I have a 1.4 16v fabia, and can confirm that there are no screws or fixings holding the engine cover in place apart from the o-rings TaviaRS mentioned. You should be able to pull the engine cover up (with a slight rocking motion?) and it will eventually come away. Graeme (fab16v) did this when he fitted the air filter I bought off him, and he did comment at that time that its held on very tightly!

I don't remember him having to unscrew or disconnect anything, but you may want to wait for someone else to confirm this before you start work...!
