Pressure washers beware!

Featured Replies

I decided to give the L&K a bit of a once over with the pressure washer at the weekend. As I was doing the radiator grille, I noticed a bubble appearing in the chrome. The water had somehow got under the plating, and was lifting as I watched! I suspect that I'd got a stone chip in the chrome, and the high pressure jet got inside. I think I'll mention it to the dealer and act dumb..........

Ive used a Karcher since iVe had the car, and mine has a few stone chips :x

Never had that problem you describe. In fact its a must to keep those pesky wheels clean , find that if i use Tutle wax extreme wheel cleaner and the washer they come up a treat. Especially now i have greenstuff pads the amount of dust on the fronts is minimal.

In fact the rear get blacker than the fronts

Not had that, but found the badge slowly became devoid of lettering every time I pressure washed \ brushed across it...

It should say "4X4 turbo"

When I test drove it I noticed it was an "X4 turbo"

..then I collected it some days later - "X turbo"

...then after washing a few times - "turbo", followed soon after by "urbo"

So I sat down with a needle and gently lifted out the remainder of the paint (it's like a rubber compound) so now it's just embossed letters in a silver bar, which cannot be read from a distance.

It certainly seemed to fox the silver RS owner that I had a blast with this morning ;)

It's excellent on wheels, definitely. But the L&K wheels are dark chrome, rather than raw alloy, so they're easier to clean anyway!
