I'll be passing through Le-Mans the week before the 24hr race, then back again a week after but not stopping.

Been many times but not the last two or three years due to small childrens birthdays being very close date-wise.

Will also be missing this year as well but hoping to get again soon (next year maybe as it's an Aston Martin's anniversary year I think)

Cool. I go every year, its almost a pilgrimage, lol

I got a spare seat if anyone wants to join us :)

I am going now with the OH, with a load of MX-5's!

we will be in the fabia and pretty sure we will have the advantage in MPG, storage space and comfort :D

should be able to make each leg (liverpool -> dover and france -> Le mans camping) with less urgency of needing petrol than the MX's :D

Cool, when you going down? and on what site you camping?

Garry

Hmm... Problem I had last time was going with a mate with a rotary engined Westfield... 180bhp in something very light but it only did about 12mpg and only had a 4 gallon racing bag tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We nearly didn;t make it to the ferry on the way back but managed to pursuade a local to use his credit card in one of those automatic all-night filling stations and we gave him the cash.

skomaz, what mazda you got then ;

knew that :P just wondering how modified!

and yup, i am probably he ! cant place your car though, keep thinking Si Dewey for some reason?

Well if your Glyn then probably similar to the last time you saw it (at one of the MX%Mods meets I think:confused:). Mostly cosmetic bits etc. but induction, free flow cat, IL Motorsport exhaust, timing bump etc. and soon to be KYB AGX (current shocks leaking):D. I still haven't managed to get it supercharged :thumbdwn: but the arrival of two small kids had an influence on that and I still have the CD changer I bought off you!

Small world eh?

Garfield (AKA Skomaz on here!)

Meant to ask - You still got your geren one (or was that the first one and the replacement was black?)

Ah! yup remember you now, in the hazy days of mx5 mods (most people are on MX5Nutz.com The Mazda MX-5 / Roadster online web-community forum now btw ;) )

green one was written off in 2002 Crash , bought a black one, modded up (Fm2, lowered, FM kit/etc....) and recently sold ( http://www.whyyoulittle.co.uk/forsale/01.jpg ), and now got a green one for sale ( Index of /BRG ) as took it in PX for the black one, and now got the fabia VRS in standard guise to have a total change of car.

And the changer still working? seem to recall there was somethig needed doing due to a dry joint? :P

Yep I think I did register but got fed up with all the in-jokes and innuendo that made all the discussions seem to spiral off into the surreal (didn't have time to wade through it all). Might give it a whirl again though.

So OK... not really modded in comparison to your old black one (did you take Toofast's as inspiration?) but certainly not standard.

Fabia VRs is a good choice if our experiences are anything to go by but definitely a different beastie to the MX5.

And yes it's still going strong after I got the soldering iron out the following day!!!

I'm going. Been every year since 1997.

My car will be highly visible... :D

How so?

You camping over? If so where you staying and when you travelling down?

Regards

Garry

The time honoured tradition of stickers on your car for Le Mans!

We're staying in the F1 Hotel (sounds expensive, isn't) at St Saturnin.

Leaving Wednesday morning, should be there easily in time for the start of the 1st qual sessions.

In a hotel!!! - Thats not taking the full feel on the weekend is it :p

Were going down on the Wednesday also, 8am Ferry out of Dover :)

Not long now.

It'll be on HA, and we're on the 7 AM speedferries on Wednesday.

I'm going down on Thursday morning this year.

Am going with the PistonHeads/WRR group.

Our campsite is Beausjour, hoping its dried out from all th rain they had last week.

Am taking the Integra.

Cool, loads of us going :)

We have a 6m x 3m Marquee/Gazebo thing to hide under if the rain comes but lets hope we use it for sheltering from the sun instead :)

I like the idea of stickering the cars up, were doing much the same with our 4 cars, going to replicate the "Gumball" logo but saying "Le Mans 2008" rather than Gum Ball 2008". Also going to cover the car with amusing quotes from the film "Snatch" which should cause some laughs :) We called our car Tyronne when we got it because "he big, hes black, and he can move when he has to..." so going to carry on the theme :)

Anyway, will get some pics up once its covered tomorrow.

Regards

Garry
