Hello all,

I'm on the verge of buying one of these TVs.

Does anyone know whether you get 1:1 pixel mapping if you connect a PC to it, and are there any owners here able to offer any general comments?

Thanks,

I'm about to order one too, cant see why you should not as graphics card should adjust to corretc output

Where are you going to get it from?

If the new D3000 is like any other Sony 1366x768 panel, then 1:1 mapping is a bit of a strange beast

On my 32V2000 panel, if you use HDMI, you are stuck to the "TV" resolutions, i.e. 1280x720, 1920x1080. There is no option to have this 1:1 mapped, and the picture is stretched across to fill the 1388x768 panel. Of course, for video content, it's fine but if you plan to use it as an extended desktop with text and graphics, the aliasing does look a bit mucky!

The best option I found was to use the VGA output: any recent graphics card will detect 1360x768 as a usable resolution. In effect, you'll lose a column of 3 pixels wide at each side of the screen which is hardly noticeable and you'll get true 1:1 mapping. Running in this mode from my PC is actually quite good :)

I believe some people have managed to get a true 1366x768 via HDMI working but it requires a lot of tweaking with powerstrip to generate a custom resolution. I haven't bothered trying to get it working as I'm satisfied with the VGA solution :)

What's the best price you've seen one at? :P :P :P

£640, but we dont all work at Sony, I was planning on the VGA option so glad you have confirmed it works ok.
