Service Indicator

Featured Replies

My VRS has done 40,000 miles and now it is due it's next service (2.5 years old). However, nothing came on to the dashboard readout to tell me this. I thought it was meant to have a spanner icon indicator?

It was last serviced at 30,000, 11 months ago. I'm glad I manually checked my service book!

Thanks

Service interval is every 10,000 miles or 12 months.

Thanks, but I know this. My fault! I originally typed "not" instead of "now" in my post. I'm wondering why it hasn't told me that I need a service?

Hi mate hows things?

It was probably not set up right at the predelivery inspection, or at its last service.

I wouldnt worry too much about it, as long as you know when it needs a service thats all

cheers

I have similar, mine has shown the service icon/spanner thingy either, on 30k miles now. Not too bad to remember as long as you are able to service on 10k miles round numbers

It seems to be a common fault that the dealers don't reset the indicators correctly. Mine is flashing despite only 9 months/6,000 miles since the 30k service. It came on a few Weeks back on the exact anniversary of the 20k service.............

Thing is, if they can't do that right, what about the rest of the service...........

Yeh good thanks. And you?

It was serviced just before I bought it in February so I couldn't remember the mileage it was last done at - good that I checked as I was relying on the car to tell me.

Yeh, you'd have thought it would just be a matter of routine for the garage to reset the service counter/timer. As said, if they miss this off you hope that they're doing the rest of the checks that they're meant to be doing.

I'm not sure if it needs the inspection service or oil service at 40,000?

yer not bad, just in the process of swapping the clutch on the fabia.

@ 40k it will need an oil change plus the inspection service including fuel filter air filter and a timing belt inspection. I think the brake fluid should also be changed too.
