'scuse my tardiness at signing up - we've owned a Fabia 1.4 mpi (00 Y) for a good 18 months now and it hasnt missed a beat so far.

That said... I want to check the state of the battery so if someone could point me in the direction for readings(?) Noticed the power steerings getting a bit heavy and posts here suggest if the battery is kicking out enough juice can lead to this problem?!?

Many thanks

Neil

Hiya.

The battery should show over 12v with the engine off, and about 14v on idle with the electrics off.

Is the PAS on these car's hydraulic or hydro-electric?

A fully hydraulic system being heavy would suggest a low fluid level, or a slipping auxilliary drive belt as likely causes.

Hydro-electric would suggest fluid level again, or a low alternator output.

Hello and welcome.
