My passenger door has started to squeak and is very annoying. On looking at it more closely the polystyrene behind the door seems to be causing the problem and must be rubbing against something to cause the hellish noise.

Any suggestions for how to cure this?

i had the same problem i took to door card off and found that the metal hook end of the door cable was moving about where it joined the rear of the inner door handle i used some thin plastic pipe and some trusty insulating tape and made a cover for the hook and holder put it back together and noise had gone

Dont know if this will help you but its worth a try when you have door card off
