ahh, fond memories of having a boot menu with a tweaked out entry just for running Doom...:D

fairly certain that if we went back to that today, reality would set in pretty quickly :o

11 disk monkey island 2?

Bah, getting back on topic, wasn't it 15 3.5in floppies for Windows 95 install?

the original Beta for win 95 was 12 floppies...

i had a 486 SX2-50 with 4mb ram and 270mb quantum fireball hdd drive and a sound blaster 16 at the time:D

Guys I downlaoded the 800mb service pack but when I went o open it, it wouldn't run. No error messages or anything :s Even right clicked and tried running as administrator but still nothing happens. Any ideas?

ahh those were the days

set blaster=a220 i5 d1 p330 t7

but when I installed the 2nd parallel port which *had* to use IRQ 5, I had to demote the sound card to use IRQ10 or something and then half the games didn't work because their crappy configurator wouldn't alloy you to use any IRQ other than 5.

And I remember getting my Roland JW-50 music workstation synthesizer for crimbo and upgraded all MIDI soundtracks to go through the keyboard which sounded sooooo much better. In fact, the music for Descent 2 was awesome at the time.

Hehe. I wonder what happened to all those marketing ideas of names for harddrives. The fireballs and bigfoots :( I used to have an IBM Deathstar ahem I mean Deskstar drive :D Nowadays, we only have WD Raptors. Bring back more names of WMD and the like.

Hmm I'll TM the "laservault" term so I can retire on my private island.

Im just about to click "Next" on this dialog

I was tempted to write "MS-DOS 3.3" but realised before it was too late that it would probably have been my last posting here for some time... :D
