hyundai i30

Featured Replies

Does anybody have any views on these? saw one on a forecourt last night, it was the i30 sport, gun metal grey,18inch rims, tints, bodykit, the full bhoona....it looked well good:) have no idea how much poke it has or if it drives well but am sure some brisky has been for a drive in one!:)

They do look a very nice buy on paper , and the ones I've seen driving past look a huge step up from other Korean cars.

I've not driven one , but they are now in the same sort of position as Skoda were in at the time of the Mk1 Furby and octavia - good cars , well priced but with an image problem to overcome

Not as such, but if that sort of thing appeals, I've seen some good reviews on the Kia C'eed (and from serious performance mags at that).

If you look at one of the car mags they did a golf vs i30 vs new focus and maybe civic as well.

Suffice to say the golf actually came last, so make of that as you will. I know car rags are not the best places and an actual drive is, but they must have moved on to get even that far.

Of those 4 I'd only even consider the FOcus and i30, cos I reckon the Golf is over-priced and has cast concrete seats, and the Sickbrick is over-styled and plug ugly with it.

its becoming popular with youngsters who cant aford to buy or insure the civc r's and golf gti's i've heard.

Similar to the position the Saxo had a few years ago when they really wanted a fiesta or pug gti

I have driven both the Hyundai I30 and the Kia Ceed, both with the 1.6 diesel.

Based on the test drives i had, i would pick the Ceed, as i think the car allround was better - handling, intierior, design etc.

I wouldn`t buy one, as im scared of the depriciation as i do many miles a year.

Looks pretty good to me... i like the look of the front end... very curvy and smooth.

Think if you wanted to save a few pennies it's be a safe bet!

My brother has just bought a Hyundai Coupe ( 2 litre ) and he loves it, and I must admit it seems well screwed together and looks pretty.

He won't let me drive it yet though because it's 'too new' and I'm 'too mad' apparantly.

The bright red leather interior is a bit off putting though.
