N75 bypass

Featured Replies

Can the valve be replaced by a manual boost controller or an aftermarket one?

What would the ecu think? I assume you'd need to fool it?

this has been done to mine by star performance with a Forge boost controller and tbh i am wanting the N75 back simply for safety reasons when the car is back on the road. if something goes amis the ecu has no way of holding back the boost.

forgot, meant to say there isn't really any need to ditch the N75 as there are members on here running 3/4/500bhp perfectly fine still using the original N75 valve :)

I'm just trying to rule stuff out with hesitation. would rather spend a tenner on a manual boost controller to see if it makes any difference.

I do agree though - I do usually prefer the ECU has control of the boost!

Why does the N75J cause the issues it does? surely if the ECU is controlling it, the excess boost should be vented off?

mike, on these things the boost is mapped - ie. the system has a target boost to try and achieve for any given running condition, if you take away the control and the actual boost strays from the target boost appreciably, I suspect it will throw a fault and turn the MIL light on.

No harm in trying to see if it fixes anything :)

Got a Blitz electronic one on mine, N75 rerouted back into itself:D Runns fine with the 350+ through it...adjustable of course:rolleyes:

Phil

it does the same thing as my forge one phil jsut costs a lot more :D

still won't reel the boost back in if it all goes pear shaped though :(
