Clutch Pedal-Sunk

Featured Replies

I was wondering if some of you may be able to throw some advice at me as to what may have caused the clutch pedal on my 02 Octavia vRS to have slowly sunk to the floor?

Could it be either there is air in the system and need bleeding or possibly a seal gone somewhere?

Any other solutions or theories would be a great help.

Thanks.

There does seem to be a common fault with the clutch master cylinder that seems prevalent when the weather turns cold...might be that.

Rob.

could also be that clutch pedal bracket is bust, as this happened to me on my current but not for long seat cordoba

When we have seen a few of the pedals that sunk to the floor , sometimes it sinks so fast that it can break the back of the pedal

But definately worth checking the master cylinder

Thanks for the replys.

I have done a search and been reading through quite a few post. The other half was driving the car and she said the pedal slowly sank whilst driving getting lower and lower so dont think anything has snapped. Sounds more like Rob suggested and is probably the master cylinder.

Will book it into the dealers to have it looked at.
