Right boys driving home and a sudden loss of power.

Engine sounds rough under light and heavy acceleration (almost scooby like) and is jerky in acceleration

It also wont boost over 5psi. So does this sound like a classic misfire to anyone as i dont have VAG-COM?

Id guess that having it remapped has put the extra strain on an already slightly off coil pack??

I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Can you lay your hands on another one?

Using a spare, work your way along the row swapping them out until the problem is sorted.

If you are feeling flush then get two or even all of them.

Ive herd someone say that are only £12 each from GSF so ill get all four for that price.

Would i not need VAG-COM to clear the fault code or will it clear its self once th coil has been swapped?

The car will be fine once the packs are swapped over.

THe code may remain there as history but as Manny says if that is the problem then the car will be fine.

That's how much they are from the stealers. First time one of mine went I had to pay £50 from the RAC!! All came back under warranty though, which was nice...

from GSF they are £16 with VAT which is a bonus.

Should i have the CEL on btw? Been reading about this and others have had the CEL come on but mine isnt.

I occasionally get the brake light on but i only thought that was due to the wear indicators (I have 2500's on so that will be why im guessing?)

I paid £24 each for mine from stealers last year, which I didn't think was too bad.

Mattbeef, I know that only 2 of mine had gone, but replaced all 4 anyway.
