Featured Replies

Service Indicator off ( the spanner )...........Or is it a trip to the Stealers...Ta!! ( Fabia )

Think it's outlined in the handbook, Andy. You twist the trip reset button left and right for so many seconds I think :D

Chris

- hold trip reset button in

- turn igntion on still holding button

- twist to right till "oil" appears

- twist right again, and usually " ---- " appears

- turn igniton off

- job done

Or something very simliar to this anyway. :cool:

or iirc you can also reset it with vagcom

Should be that :confused:

1 - Switch ignition OFF.

2 - Press and hold down the trip odometer reset button

3 - Switch ignition ON and release the trip odometer reset button.

4 - The trip mileage area now displays "Service OIL".

If trip odometer reset button is now pressed again, the display turns to "Service INSP". Pressing the button again will cycle the display back to "Service OIL".

When the reminder that needs to be reset (either OIL or INSP) is displayed, turn button for setting the clock to the right.

The display changes to "Service ----". That reminder is now reset.

The second reminder is unaffected unless it is displayed by pressing trip odometer reset button and the clock button is turned right again.

Switch ignition OFF and back ON to resume normal display.

* Turn on ignition.

* Hold down Right trip button and continue to do so whilst turning off ignition.

* Still with Right trip button held down turn ignition back on.

* Release Right trip button.

* With ignition still on turn Left trip button to the Right and release.

* Turn off ignition

Got the bottom bit of a website!

Somthing like that anyway!

...................and the page number is.........................:sofahide:

I found reference to page 52 on the web but no idea which model that's for. I seem to remember it saying (taken from a post I did in 2005 :o)......

- hold trip reset button in

- turn igntion on still holding button

- let button go twist to right

- press button again till oil appears

- twist right again

- turn igniton off

- job done

But I also put a caveat saying that different trim levels had different techniques. What can I have meant by that?! :rubchin:

Right, that don't work either. When I turn on the ignition a little spanner ( no not me ) appears on the left of the trip window and INSP flashes after a while the INSP dissapears and the spanner symbol remains. " Have I found something that Briskie can't fix........Christmas Dougnut to the person who fixes my problem.

Extracts from pages 16 and 17 of the vRS manual attached. Seems to be mention of holding the button for 10 seconds, which I've not noticed mentioned yet (although i've not read through in detail, so apologies if it is).

SORTED..............Dougnut on it's way to you Sir!! If you happen to be going to Mr Grumpy's Drinking Club get your self a pint, I'll pay................:thumbup:

Wicked, this has been annoying me for months!
