SKC code, skoda CS are a joke!

Featured Replies

Well i am abit dissapointed today.

I am needing the SKC in order to fit my new dash pod, i understand that this should have been supplied on a key tag from new. I did not recieve this.

Spoke to customer service today, and they were very unhelpful. Quite rude in fact.

They basically said I had to go to the dealer and pay them £40 to get the code. And that my arguement was not with them but the suppling dealer.

the problem with that is that the suppling dealer has shut up shop, not supprised really they were carp!

Watch this space! i dont care if it costs me hundereds, am

seeking legal advice even if its just to prove a point to these clowns.

I'm glad you're doing this. With them joyriding in your car and not fixing the faults with your car I think it's only right they get a bit of a f*cking.

And you're right, Skoda CS are rude. Their attitude to me when I had trouble with a warranty claim was unbelievable. I have no idea where this myth that Skoda CS are friendly comes from.

skoda CS are SO bad, I no longer own a skoda.....

Even Merc cover suspension bushes under warranty......

go get em john:thumbup:

That's because they wear out so fast! :D Sell these by the bucket load for the out-going C and S-class & the current E-class. Having said that, they've got a fixed balljoint at one end (removable bush at the other), so you usually have to replace the whole arm as these are checked for wear during an MOT. And they're not cheap. I miss my 190E - mechanically sound and very simple to work on. Never had to replace any suspension bits on that one, and it had reached a grand old 173k miles before I sold it on to a very happy chappy!

Regarding Skoda CS, they're about on par with VW, BMW and Mercedes in this country. Shoddy really. Mercedes service in Germany is much better so it's probably just a UK thing.

Skud-did you check if the tag was in your faux-leather folder (for manual, service book etc)? When I bought my Polo, it was attached to the folder, not on the spare key fob. HTH. When SWMBO got her Fabia, it was attached to a third remote device without an ignition key on it - really odd.

Bloody carp get everywhere

I'm glad I've kept my SKC code in my service book.... Seems like anything that needs doing now with it, is a dealer only job. :thumbdwn:

What is the SKC code used for? I've never seen it in any of my documentation....

The SKC will be recorded on a plastic loop type thing and is needed when coding things like keys, dashpods etc.

So do seat ;)

My dads solicitor has put together a letter now.

Ive sorted out getting the code from one of my local contacts ;) but this is not the point, I dont think i should have to call in favours in this situation.

Its my car, i paid good money for it, why the hell should i have to pay someone to get something that should have come with the car. Its like buying a car with no wheels and then your expected to pay for some new ones. GRRRRR

I dont think ill be buying another skoda now, and I shall no longer be recommending them to anyone, i encounter in the journey of life. My parents spend alot (and i mean alot) of money on cars, we were just discusing the other day how we needed another car and the octavia scout fitted the requirements nicely.

If your reading this SUK your a set of regects and have lost the sale of a new octavia scout due to not even being bothered to sort out one of your customers problems

rant over, have a nice day :D

Yeeeee harrrr! Go John! Well, go John Solicitor....and, errr.....Johns Dad.....umm, yeah. :D

I've thought the same thing. Was thinking Octy II vRS TDi as the next car but have seriously thought recently that it's not such a good idea. Once again, silly white seats, VAG niggles and a dealer network that couldn't give a rats a55 about it's customers. Shame as Skoda were doing really well in their early years.

You need it for basically anything immobiliser based on the car. Keys, dash pod's etc.

Dont worry though if you ever need it, buxton_codes.ltd will sort it for you.

We used to sell British leylands and had a very good reputation for customer service, Now thats saying something cos they were the worst cars ever made!

Come on skoda its not diffecult, you make some ok cars, a little customer service wouldnt go a miss.

how did you test drive it with no wheels on:confused:surely the price reflected it had none.

Sadly the days when people or companies were intimidated by a solicitor's letter are long gone.

Good on you though for trying - it is a ludicrous state of affairs with the codes.

Looks like Skoda CS told you a porky. From what I have been told dealers can no longer supply the code, all coding has to be done online through the VAS machine and the technician doing the job doesn't see the code.

I know this ;) but obviously they dont.

they dont need to plug in, they can unoffically get it by other means but skoda uk dont like the garages doing that way and will want you to come in to prove who you are and that you are the owner, but shouldnt charge you.
