Finally got one of these yesterday

Sandisk 8GB MicroSD - Sandisk Cards

So, at last I have a decent amount of storage on my phone. Did take a while to arrive due to supply/demand though. So if you order from here, dont believe its in stock because it may not be.

Someone I work with ordered an 8gb card 2 weeks ago and it's still not here yet

8gb is huge for a phone :D

I just went for the 6GB for my MDA Vario... although i would have liked the 8GB... didn't really need quite that much room... not even sure i need the 6GB's but never mind... hehe

Snap! I made the mistake of formatting the card on my phone first though, thus deleting the preloaded USB drivers, so my computer wont recognise it now. Doh!

Did yours come with one of those stupid little fiddly USB adapters that looks like a black and red teardrop? The card doesn't seem to fit into it right.

Just pondering whether I need 4, 6 or 8Gb :rubchin:

There is a knack to get the cards in and out of that reader, it is really fiddly. I used it to copy the contents of the 2GB card onto the 8GB one. Did the whole thing (full 2GB card) in less than 10 mins.

Well that depends on what you're going to use it for... I have an ipod so dont need it for music, but use sat-nav and usually end up with loads of other crap on there so went for the 6GB one... was only £30.

I managed to get hold of Allok MP4 converter. It converts all video to H264 MP4 so works with Real player ont N95.

I do miss my Coreplayer, but have found that MP4 takes up less space on the mem card than simply transfering video files across to be used with core.

Allok MPEG4 Converter - Convert AVI MPEG WMV to MPEG4, MP4 Converter

Where did you buy from?

Cheers,

Steve

Amazon are doing said 8GB card for £42.

Clicky

And you can get it for a similar price on eBay but I know where I would rather get it.

I bought from ebay... just search and a few come up...

Always wary of buying items such as this on 'the bay'. Given the choice, I'd much rather pay a bit more from a proper retailer when you know what you're getting. Tales of counterfeit Sandisk cards in convincing packaging etc....
