Car Replacement

Featured Replies

I read somewhere that Ford drivers would most likely replace their car with another Ford.

Thinking of that I would have replaced my Astra with another one, but maybe not the latest one as I didn't like it that much when I hired one out for a weekend.

Other cars I've driven and liked are the Fords Fiesta and Focus and the Seat Ibiza.

Being a bit of a Skoda fan now I prob would replace my car with another Skoda. The Octy mk2 or even the new Superb if its the all new Skoda that people have been waiting for.

What car would you replace your current car with and why?

If I can afford it I will have a decent spec Audi or the new Superb.

If I can't afford it I will have another Octavia

Either way I think it's very unlikely i'll leave the VAG stable anytime soon.

:P I don't replace my cars, I just keep adding to the collection. I ought to stop really now I've got to twelve! :D

You must have a big garage then.

If i should buy a new car today, i would probably get a new Hyundai I30 1.6 CRDI115 on yellow plates - without backseats - crazy danish tax system.

Very happy about my Fabia - but always want to try something new.

Or maybe a Fiat Grande Punto, also on yellow plates - hmmm.

Vauxhall Monaro 4 door V8 (the current one).

why? I like V8's and its quick lol

I usually buy a car based on its merits rather than who makes it, although a bad experience with a manufacturer could well put it further down my list.

If I was to replace today, I'd be looking at a kitted up BMW 3 series diesel if I was being sensible or an E46 M3 or 911 Carrera if I was feeling flush

Chris

If I could REALLY afford it I would get me a 535D tourer.

The V10 Phaeton is still on my wish list though

A Lamborghini Reventon.

Sensible mode - second hand Audi A4 Avant or maybe a Subaru Legacy estate (there's lots of them about here!)

Dreaming:

Audi RS4 Avant

BMW 535D Touring

Holden 6.0 V8 ute

HSV Holden Commodore V8 with viper stripes!

I kinda like estates, can you tell?

FRS

.I borrowed an estelle rapid for a while, when my vauxhall viva was off the road, the viva was always going wrong, so i then had a cavalier, that went wrong, water pump, valve stem seals ,siezed brakes,so i had enough of vauxhall and tried ford, had a lovely diesel fiesta, always in the garage for cambelt ,recalls. Then i remembered the little Skoda,it always started first time, my mate never had anything wrong with it ,so i bought a favorit ,no problems, except from the struts, replased it with a new diesel felicia estate, no real problems,i kept it for 8 years, then had a fabia 1.4 tdi estate, another good car ,now i have a superb, so far nothing has gone wrong with it.Each time i replace my Skoda with another they keep getting better. My neighbour is still running the felicia,it goes well. i would probably have another Skoda if i were to replace it

:)I work in a garage repairing cars. In my spare time I've been collecting RWD Skodas to restore....hence the 12 Skodas.

What are the RWD "proper" skodas like to drive?

What are the RWD "proper" skodas like to drive?

:) Not at all fast, even the inappropiately named Rapid which should have been called the Skoda Bitfaster!

The engines are very willing to give their best though and are quite fast enough. I've been driving them for nearly 18 years so I've got used to their quirks, but most "normal" people struggle a bit with the offset to the left pedals, the vague gearchange, the tail happy handling, and the almost frightening impossibility to drive them in a straight line on a motorway when it's windy!

I make them sound awful, and to some they are. They are very quirky, and as long as you don't pretend they are the best cars in the world you appreciate them for the fun, back to basics, no frills transport they are. These cars are like humans in that they have character by the bucketload, occasionally make you laugh, and occasionally make you swear!

I love em to bits, sometimes literally, and can't imagine ever not owning one.

Fabia 3 TDi 105

Fabia vRS

Octavia vRS

BMW 1 series

FIAT Grande Punto Sporting/Abarth

Golf GT TDI 140 3 door

Escort Xr3i (Mk3)

Escort RS Turbo (S2)

Capri 2.8i/280

Porsche 944

Id be happy with any one of the above.

Looking at a budget of around £15-20 for my next car... which tbh gives me a whole pile of cars to look at!

Some of the ideas:

Brand new Mk2 Octavia vRS TFSI

Mk4 Golf R32

B5 Audi S4

Focus ST

Mk5 Golf GTI

Now on my fourth Skoda so I think the next one may be from them as well :D

my uncle has a v10 phaeton. he swopped his porsche 996 for it. not sure i'd do that swop, i'd much rather own the porsche.

I like my current car and see no reason to change it just yet :)

But if I had a change of heart, I could just sell a few shares and sort it :)

A whole 15-20 pounds! Last of the big spenders eh?;):D

Focus ST

You know it makes sense ;):D:cool:

Personally I'm tempted to try a BMW or an Audi next... but that wont be for awhile yet :)

 LOL...I guess I worded that wrongly! I didn't mean it quite like THAT! :P

I was going to say !!! It wasn't that long a go that a bloke got banged up for loving his bike to bits !!!!!

Originally was looking at the Honda Jazz, but having seen the rather cramped up engine put me off altogether.

Choices would be

VW Polo Bluemotion (If price was right)

VW Polo 1.2 (12v version)

Fiat Panda 1.2 (The new 2 cylinder version for next year)

Toyota Yaris

No Fabia 2 unless Skoda do a major redesign on it.
