Diesel Additive

Featured Replies

Anybody know what Diesel cleaning aditive i can use in my 06 MK1 TDi ?

I still want to use Millers Diesel Clean but not sure if it will damage the CAT on the car.I used to use it on my 97 Primera TDi because it is the best around.

Don't Skoda recommend against using any fuel additives?

It says this in my manual you see.

all manufacturers advise against then they all put it in prior to an MOT. An easy way to boost profits some would say.

Nationwide Autocentre once failed my golf on emissions sold me an additive for £10. I drove 40m prior to the re test it passed!!

VOSA told me that from the print out it shouldn't have failed at all.

As usual I digress.

Sorry

I'd use Millers diesel sport 4 for a bit - recommended by Millers for use in more modern engines. :)

Just buy one of the newer premium fuels BP, Shell or Esso, all have a higher centane rating which should boost mpg and power. The problem with addatives is that your tempted to put too much in and they become less cost effective.

Again your car is tuned to give best performance for a given fuel rating. Check the handbook.

Do a Search on Millers Diesel Sport4 for lots of post on this subject - virtually all positive.

I use it all the time and swear by it in my PD140 - smoother running and an extra 1-2 mpg so it pays for itself

It's full name is Millers Diesel Power Sport 4.

Diesel Power Sport 4

Diesel Power Sport 4 incorporates the key benefits of diesel power plus with the very latest additive technology to "produce better than new performance"

Recommended especially for modern Euro IV compliant vehicles with catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters

Formulated to increase Diesel Cetane rating by 4 numbers resulting in significantly increased power output and a smoother running much more responsive engine with lower exhaust emissions improved MPG and cleaner injectors and piston crowns

500 ml bottle with Dosage instructions Can be Double-Dosed

:P Swot  All I know is I have a half full 5 litre bottle of the stuff in the car. :D

Are additives different to the injector cleaner stuff?

Are additives different to the injector cleaner stuff?

The Millers stuff is put in the fuel system (add in the fuel tank) and it cleans the injectors. There is various other stuff that you can add to the oil or to the air intake system iirc.

Cheers for that guys!!

Bought the additive from millers and straight away it felt different even at just 35000 miles.

the fuel additives are usually ok, its the oil additives are the ones to watch out for, some can auctually cause damage to the seals, eg, valve stem seals. but the injector cleaners are generally ok, ive been using them for a while now.

hey Jas whatever happened to that GB of Millers Diesel Power Sport 4??

Cos I need some I have about 5 tank fulls left!!
