Mongrel is back!

Featured Replies

Just heard she's back on the road again! have been fretting today as it seems the clutch pipe is on back order with Skoda, so it was looking unlikely I would get my car back for some time. :(

Thankfully though, the T piece was obtained from another source and it turns out with this fitted, the pipe does not leak, so :woohoo: :woot: Mongrel will be back in my hands.

More mongrelling on saturday though - Going to be looking at removing the redundant aircon. Dealing with the pump and aux belt should be fun. :)

Redunant air-con? Air-con is a blessing, man! Why on earth are you removing it?

aha - That T-piece - they've been heard of causing problems - changed mine during the last clutch incursion....

part no. is on Stu's website....

Good to hear the Mongrel's back - it's downright unpleasant when the car's not on the road for any reason..... perhaps we should form a support group for people separated from their Fabias???:D

Cheerio matey

I simply don't need it, and it's been broken for.... well? Around 12 months? Never missed it during the summer (perhaps the odd very rare time that windows down wasn't sufficient) - And the pump and everything weighs so much, I'll gain more in performance terms than I would ever gain comfort from having it. It's all coming out! :D

When's the new light unit going in (got to be an extra 10bhp at least) ?????

Tomorrow as well. It's in the kitchen now so I hope I remember to grab it on my way out early in the morning. I'd best remember the camera too. :D

With all the money you've must have spent you could have got a bigger and faster car mate:p

Don't want big, and I could get faster by buying a different car, but I have the :D:) of building my own.

how about getting a bugatti and doing it up ;)

who wants buy a fast car? I have done that many times and never ended with the one i want:D

Not even for cold drinks on hot track days / dyno sessions? I'll keep you supplied if you let me drive your car.

I actually have it back now. Have investigated the belt thing, but couldn't get a 6K belt the right length until Monday, so she's going back. Have fitted the water rservoir today though, along with the new brake pads, tweaked the exhaust a bit, and done a full oil change. :)
