Safari

I've just downloaded and am using the Safari web browser for Windows. It's a beta version but I'm highly impressed so far :thumbup:

A lot better than IE7 :finger::finger:

Really?

I wonder if they have improved it , as when I tried it a month or two back it was dog slow with no redeeming features

How does it compare to FireFox on a PC?

While im using a mac i still use FireFox rather than Safari

I was disappointed by Safari as well.

Firefox for the win, closely followed by Opera.

Firefox for me too :)

Avant Browser - for those in the know :D

Freeware bolt-on front end for IE - megafeatures.

Avant Browser::Home

Tried em all - and that means an awful lot.

And this one wins hands down.

I'm using Firefox on the iMac rather than Safari. More for familiarity and habit more than anything :D

So is a CLI, or anything in fact. Try giving Firefox or iCab a spin.

TBQFH, Firefox FTW :)

Firefox, Woohoo.

I might give Safari another run as its been a while.

I'm pretty happy with Firefox, but I'm gonna give this one a go just coz of the reviews.

Same here Firefox on a Mac as it's simple and clean, will try Avant if they have a Mac version

EDIT won't work on a MAC.

Good man - you know it makes sense.

Takes a while to get used to all the functions and how to 'turn on' and off these and how best to use the program, but worth it for the huge range of everyday-useful features and the stability.

I normally use Firefox, but thought I'd give Safari a go :):)

Safari for simplicity, Firefox for tweakability, I.E. for compatibility with websites designed by poor quality web designers. :)

Right, I've got Firefox and IE, and I pretty much always use IE... Is there any reason not too other than for people with a rabid fear of M$?

In my case it's just that IE is so crappy and so counterintuitive to use - why I use Avant Browser for the front end.

Problem! I can't stumble with Avant browser.

IE is majorly targeted by spammers and virus merchants.

Why do you think IE is counter intuitive? You enter your web address at the top... it takes you to the site... Seems pretty simple to me lol.

The interface sucks

AvantBrowser (and so many others) do it so much better - and offer lots of extra useful features.

Windows Media Player ranks the same for me - counterintuitive. :thumbdwn:

In English ................. :P

I would say the everyday controls are easy to use... but I must admit that IE6 was better when I was trying to find the "Find" option in menu's to search a page for something.

Ok, I'm trying out Avant... I'm quite impressed that double clicking on the area next to the open tab opens a new one (alot better than firefox which seems to rely on key presses or a menu option) but my back and forward buttons on my mouse don't seem to work...

All I can say is that AvantBrowser is freeware, have been using it over 3 years and have yet to find a better all-round 'package' (I use the Net too too much :o).

It does take some sussing out - how to turn on this feature, how to disable that etc.

But have tried virtually every thing else going over the last 10 years and nothing, repeat nothing, does the job as well.

The more I use Avant, the more impressed I am! Any hints on the back/forward mouse buttons?

Oooooo, I've just discovered Mouse Gestures!
