Autoglym Lifeshine

Featured Replies

I have just ordered an Octy VRS and have been offered this treatment by the dealer for £249.

The paintwork, glass and interior gets the treatment - Anybody had any experience of this ?

Within the price I would also receive the following Autoglym products:-

Super Resin Polish

Custom Wheel Cleaner

Extra Gloss Protection

All Season Screenwash

Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner

Aqua-Dry

Car Glass Polish

Perfect Polishing Cloth

Interior Shampoo

Jumbo Sponge (wont be using that!)

Vinyl and Rubber Care

Bird Dropping Wipes

Car Care Expert Guide.

Comments/feedback will be welcomed....

There is a good margin of profit in those kits, a large proportion of which is commision for the Salesperson (probably more than he'll get for selling you the car)

dont bother mate.

If you want to get a proper care pack for you car look else where.

detailingworld is a good place to start

That price is not just for the pack - it includes a full dealer applied internal and external application as well

Yep - but there is still a big margin in it. I bet the saleman will earn at least £50 of that.

Ok - cheers - sounds like a thanks but no thanks then!

I Apply the kits. they are about the best on the market.

Yes there is a large profit margin on them, but autoglym only supply them to the trade.

We charge £200 for the exterier and £300 for the whole lot.

Ive heard you can buy them off ebay but your warrenty will not be valid.

It has to be applied by someone who has been certified by autoglym.

Hope this helps with your decision

you might get the pack in the boot but how do you know the work has even been done? think id spend the cash elsewhere and do it meself!

The interior stuff is supposed to be great, but I'm interested to see they supply SRP in the care kit.

I would have thought that SRP would polish lifeshine off the surface off the car and would be something you don't want to use.

Isnt Lifeshine just a buzzword associated with their kits?

I would imagine it's just a hard wax that lasts about a year. The car paint itself will shine for a while even if neglected, but if you care about your car you're going to want to wash and wax it properly at some point. Either way I'd forego the life shine. Do a good job from new and you can probably minimise the need for any abrasive polishes later.

You can get the AG trade products if you look around and they're usually better value than the retail one's due to the size. For example Liquid Hardwax is the same as Extra Gloss Protection, a bottle of Liquid Hardwax costs less than a bottle half the size from Halfords here Autoglym Liquid Hardwax

AFAIK the "warranty" is also a joke as it doesn't get you the job re-done free if it needs doing.

Dont be taken in by this I was with a diamond brite finish and it was ****, plus the dealers added loads od swirls which i could not remove without removing the diamond brite finish. Honest autoglym products SRP and extra gloss protection will do just as good and much cheaper do it yourelf.
