Just wondering if it is possible to change my ECU in my 1.8 vRS 2003 to a remapped one from a salvage car of the same model and year (and vice vercer if I don't like it)....

I cant see why not if the ECU model # is the same.

AFAIK It can be done but you need to recode it for your immo and keys. Easy if you have vag com expensive if you don't

done it on my car - after adapting the new ECU, you can plug them in alternately at will - no more adapting at all- helpful if you have different maps on them....

Yes, else the car wont start!

I believe you also need the 4 digit SKC for the salvaged ECU, as well as your own.

yes you will need to adapt/recode the ECU to work with your dash, and you will need the SKC code from the both the new ECU and the existing one to achieve that.

Once you have done that you should be able to swap either ECU in place of the other without problem

The keys are a seperate issue and not a problem, as they are matched to the immo in the dash, not the ECU directly.

I have had both a 1.3 and a 1.6 felicia and unless you sort the suspension and brakes you really dont want more power. Also the 1.3 is an old skoda engine breathed on by vw so dont know how much power increase it would take:(

The 130 unit (on clockwork and carbs) has been tuned to 120bhp. It needs a pretty comprehensive re-work though.

We're talking ported head (and manifolds), new camshaft and pistons, new carb and dissie with a carbie unit, so I'd imagine a new EMS and map on a Felicia.

thanks for your information but could you be more specific on the modificaitons which i should make on my felicia. I know that i understood that i have to place high pressure pistons, lower the cylinder head, new camshaft but i did not understand the rest.
