Auto lock/unlock

Featured Replies

Hi All

I've done a search, but probably looking in the wrong place, so please accept my apologies if this has been asked before.

I've just taken delivery of my new Octavia Ambient with MAxi-dot option, and want to change the settings so that the doors all unlock once the ignition key has been removed.

Currently all the doors lock over 10mph or what ever it is, but stay locked once stopped and ignition switched off, I have to use the switch by the gear lever to unlock the car.

Which setting do I need to be in in the Maxi-dot to set this to how I want it?

TIA

IIRC there is a setting for auto lock and another for auto unlock

or just pull on the door handle twice

If you have maxi-dot, it's under Convenience > Door Open (or similar)

Auto Close - Does as you ask, and locks the doors at about 5mph

Auto Open - Unlocks the door again when you switch off, and remove your key from the ignition. (As long as you haven't manually changed the locking state since you started off)

from post by Guiness that enabled me to put it on

Cheers Sicknote

I sorted it after some fiddling.

As you say in "convenience" I've set "single door" "auto lock" and "auto unlock"

I presumed I could only have one or the other, not both.

In case you hadn't realised, the "Single door" option you have enabled is not necessary for your original query.

With "single door" enabled, when you unlock the car with a single press on the keyfob, only the driver's door will unlock. You need to do two presses in quick succession to open all doors (and boot).

Probably a good idea to leave it on though - it's a safety / anti-car jacking measure.
