Octavia 1.9 TDI Ambience--Windscreen.

Featured Replies

I have a problem with my windscreen, I have only just bought the car from a Skoda dealer, with 51.000 miles on, I notice when driving into a low sun my screen seems have a coating on the outside, I think it may be called refraction? as soon as I am in shade again it goes, it looks almost like a fine net for want of a better word, I have tried cleaning with Auto Glym glass cleaner, but seems no better, several people have advised me to clean with various methods, I wondered if any readers have experienced this, I have been in touch with Skoda, and am waiting a reply, I also took the car to Autoglass to no avail, another way to describe the condition is, as if the screen has been shotblast lightly, one can see hundreds of small prisms in it. I washed the screen today, but have to wait for the next sunny day to check it out again.

welcome to brikoda.

Are you sure the coating is on the outside?. Try cleaning the inside as well.

hi

if it looks like a fine net could it not be a heated fron screen ??? the ford focus has a screen like that

There is no such thing as heated screen on the octy, and it wasnt available as an option.

Does the screen look like the original one, with the same markings as the side windows, look in the area where your tax disk is located (passenger side lower corner).

Hi and welcome, is this "fine net" completely over the windscreen, or only a section of it ?? and markings as mentioned , should tell you something.
