Has Anyones Rear Speakers Gone BANG!!! VRS.

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

Well i was on my way home from football today all was good i had the radio on (carn't play cd's - the changer is PANTS!!! but thats another story) and all of a sudden there was a huge bang from the rear of the car!

Now this happened just as i was driving under a bridge so my initial thought was some goon had thrown a brick off the top of the bridge and it had landed smack bang on the top of my car - thats how loud the bang was!

So, i parked the car - my mate nearly died of a heart attack and we both got out. I was expecting a huge dent in the roof of my motor but nothing! Therefore the only thing i can link the noise to is the rear speakers! It defo was not the exhaust as the bang came from within the cabin.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Just to add - the speakers are still working fine!

I've just recently faded the speaker sound to the back of the car - using the stock speakers, as the ones on the front were poor with bass on numerous songs - giving out an annoying buzzing sound!

Anyway, the only plans ive got for the car - apart from keeping it in mint condition and regular servicing, is to upgrade the head unit and to put a new set of rear speakers in the car. Guess i'll be doing that sooner than i thought :)

Any views?

Cheers

it wouldnt be the rear speakers, they are incapable of making sound of that magnitude. Changes are you run over something in the road, and it caught on the exhaust or the rear axle beam.

Bangs like hell if you stall it too,

A bit late on replying but have a look under the seats for a spring lying around

This happened to me driving down a dual carrageway and a huge bang occured.

I stopped and had a look but nothing, wasnt till some tw*t cut me up and the braking action forced the spring out from under the seat. This was a huge bang (nearly same sound as bangers on 5th nov) so sounds possible it could be the same for you

How about a backfire?

mine go on and off

Dude, why is your thread shouty? :roll
