Super heavy duty AA batteries

Featured Replies

I have a set of these as part of a remote control and radio receiver thingy. However, they don't seem to last very long before the range of reception drops massively, so I thought I'd invest in some rechargeables....

However, my 2200mAH (or thereabouts) digi camera batteries don't appear to be up to the job, so my question is, is there a rechargeable battery suitable, or am I doomed to forever buying replacement batteries :)

How many AA's do you need i can get 80 odd for a fiver they are energiser i think.

Blimey that was quick :D Takes two at a time, but 80 for a fiver sounds like a bargain not to be missed ;) They definitely the "super heavy duty" ones? :D

The wife work in Orthopaedic theatres and they come in packs of 8 sterile for use in various equipment (you dont want to know what it does ;) )

As they are sterile they are single use only then they are given to the staff for a 'donation' to the xmas beer fund.

Yes they have been used once but by a very low-wattage device, I use them in Maglites which are very power hungry but they seem to last well.

I will have a word with SWMBO and see what I can do OK?

I will instruct SWMBO to start collecting the batteries and will PM you when she has them, should be by the end of the week but give me a nudge if you havent heard from me by then :D

I think rechargable batteries are 1.2v & normal are 1.5v. that may be why it doesn't like rechargeables, not sure over ni-cads vs ni-mh. You can also get a charger to recharge standard batteries. Its called Battery manager ultra, & its made by innovations.
