Amplifier In Boot

Featured Replies

I will be getting a VRS Octavia soon and would like to install an amp to power the compnent speakers I plan to install. Is there an adequate power supply and switched supply in the boot space? Or do I have to run cables from the front?

Thanks for your time.

You need to run the live from the battery but there is a good earth point under the back seat.

surely you have to run the remote turn on lead from the head unit to power the amp up?

It's really easy to run cables in the Octy, just pull up the surrounds from the doors and feed it through.

Thanks Guys

There's also a post on her with a how-to guide on getting the cable from the engine bay through a grommet in the passenger seat. Well worth reading if you can find it.

Here's how I did it:

Where did you take the switch signal from?

Back of the head unit. I ran it next-to the amp power cable.

I have an amp in the boot, I ran The power and the signal leads down the passenger side of the car and earthed the main feed to the back seat.

Then i ran the Phono leads (from the pre-out) down the drivers side to avoid any interference from the power leads. :goodvibe: Was simple to do.

Hardest thing was getting the power feed through the gromet in the bulk head, But after hours of failed attempts i thought of using a tent peg to push through the gromet and then managed to push the feed wire through with ease.

If you want to know anything or i can help in anyway PM me.;)
